We are located on a quite canal just off the Yeopim River about a five minute boat ride from the beautiful Albemarle Sound. Along with the beautiful natural landscape you can enjoy great fishing and water sports. Up river you will find hidden coves and streams where you can see many varieties of birds and aquatic life. Be on the lookout for nesting eagles or, if you’re really lucky, a Prothonotary Warbler! Whether by power boat, canoe or kayak there are many enticing water activities for you to experience.
Founded in 1668, Perquimans County beckons you to explore our rich historical heritage. Perquimans County enjoys four National Register Historic Districts and the Newbold-White House Site, the oldest house in North Carolina.
Our two charming towns, Hertford and Winfall, take you back to a slower time without all the hustle and bustle of your everyday life. In Hertford, you can visit one of our old time pharmacies that still serves an enormous ice cream cone for an old time price. While strolling our main street, you can find treasures from the past or present. You can also see the famous S-shaped Bridge. Our towns and county offer you a personal and friendly adventure.
